Road Testing

• After receiving a Certificate of Completion from PDS @ 15 years or older, your student will be eligible to take the written test @ the OMV ; therefore, applicants may not take the road test @ OMV unless 16 years or older or if applicant hasn't held learner's permit 180 days ( if applicant is 16 + years of age ). The OMV is allowing us to administer the raod skills test as soon as your student receives a learner's permit. Students do not have to wait until age 16 or until the 180-day period is up. Although road skills applicants still have to wait until age 16 to receive a license from the OMV.
• Students might be more familiar with our staff although all instructors will not be certified to administer the road skills test.
• PDS vehicles will be available for rent ! IF YOU USE OUR VEHICLE, it will be a vehicle your teen might be more familiar ( although they are not guaranteed to test in the same vehicle they received instruction due to the fact we have 4 vechicles ).
• We will set appointments, eliminating the typical 1-2 hour wait time @ the OMV.
• After waiting in line @ the OMV , IF IT STARTS TO RAIN , they will not test you, we will !!! We will set an appointment even if it is raining.
• The OMV will only administer the road test Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ( They do not test between 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. due to lunch and split shifts and they stop allowing road test applicants after 3:30 p.m. to allow time to finish ). We will set road test appointments on weekends and even after work hours , as late as 7:30 p.m.
